What Is Truth?

E-mail Print PDF

There is not much TRUTH around today! It’s all lies and deception.

The whole world lies in wickedness, the Bible says. “There is none that doeth good, no, not one.” We may think we are pretty good because we help people, or, in our own eyes, we are not so bad as others, or, our good deeds must outweigh our bad ones, etc., and many think this will get us to Heaven when we die.

We may even believe in God, but a god of our own imagination and making, not the true and living God of the Bible. We want a god we can be comfortable with and who suit our purposes. A little bit of religion maybe, just to be on the safe side; nothing too much to change our ways.

The TRUTH is unpalatable to most people. Where and what is Truth?

The Lord Jesus Christ said:

“I am the way, the Truth and the life, and no man cometh unto the Father but by Me.”

(John 14:6)

He is the only Truth. We can take the word of God and know that it is Truth, for the Word is God.

Man wants his own way, his own sins, his self-indulgence, and everything is wrapped around self. The Bible is the only word that is true and living, because Christ Himself is the Word. The Bible says in John 3:3

“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.”

Without the new spiritual birth, we cannot see, and cannot know, for we are blind to the Truth. Until God the Father draws us to the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit, there is darkness and blindness. Only Christ Himself can give you Light and forgive your sins. Everyone on earth is born in sin, and no man, whether priest, vicar, bishop, or pastor can forgive sin.

So where do we look for the precious truth to save our souls? God cannot even look upon sin, so we are all doomed. But, God the Father provided a way, by giving His precious only begotten Son to die on the cross at Calvary, for the sins of His people. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.

These are those who seek the Lord while He can be found and call upon Him whilst He is near… These are they who are shown their sins and come to God in deep repentance for them. They hear the word and are quickened (made alive) by the power of the Holy Spirit; only after this can they hear properly and respond. They are brought out of darkness and into His marvellous Light, to love, worship and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, who is God, very God.

They then walk in newness of life and desire only to serve the Lord, in great gratitude for His wonderful gift of salvation, when they deserved absolutely nothing. They are chosen in Christ and love Him because He first loved them. Their Joy is knowing the Lord.

This is the only TRUTH you will ever find in this evil world.
