Halloween Harms Children

E-mail Print PDF

Loving parents will not willingly put their children in danger... unless it is Halloween. Give children anything wrapped in fun and games and they will accept it. But, to my mind, Halloween festivities are an abuse of children in the guise of ‘joining in’, fun and games. Many atrocities are committed against children by making things ‘fun’... paedophilia, drugs, alcohol, smoking. ‘Fun’ is the label most often used, and young children in particular are defenceless against this adult persuasion.

(In this paper I will not talk about the history of Halloween, except to say it is founded on pagan, occult activities. Druids believed the ‘lord of death’ summoned evil spirits [demons] who had inhabited animals for the previous twelve months. (Note the article on McArthur youth camps, indulging in the same kinds of events). Suffice to say that Halloween is a day for demons, not for fun. I will say more about the history in a separate paper).

Adults are fed on TV programmes showing demons fighting humans using karate! Utterly preposterous. In Mexico they have a festival to honour the dead that resembles Halloween. Angels with huge wings land on earth looking remarkably like humans, and acting more like demons than beings sent from Heaven. A recent TV offering is called, I think, ‘Lucifer’. The ‘star’ looks human and loves to rule. And stupid, untaught people will watch with zeal, thinking it is all just fun, though none of it is actual or possible. Lucifer (Satan) is NOT fun.

Lucifer was the most glorious angel in Heaven. But, his sin caused God to cast him, and the angels who followed him (now called demons), out to inhabit the earth and its atmosphere. Their task is solely to harm human beings, and Christians in particular. Even moreso, they want to lead children into sin through games and fun... especially through Halloween, children’s TV showing ghouls, demons and ghosts as figures of fun, even depicting them as ‘cute’. There is nothing cute about real demons, ghouls and ghosts! They are agents of the devil and their aim is to destroy humans.

So, when parents encourage their children to ‘enjoy’ Halloween, they are ignoring the warnings of God concerning the devil, and opening up young lives to the demonic, which will stay with them throughout life unless they are saved sometime in the future. Demons are in operation in police work, where officers have to deal with young people under the influence not only of drugs and alcohol, but also the influence of Satan. And, I saw plenty of evidence of demons in those with so-called ‘mental illness’. No ‘fun’, just complete mental breakdown and violence.

REAL Demons are Out There (and perhaps ‘in here’)

Some liberals will deny the presence of demons, but many police testify to the eerie and often wicked characters of some they have to arrest. It is also a fact that many of these liberals willingly watch ghost and phenomena TV programmes. Many of them, too, say they “believe in God” but make no effort to obey what He says. This tells me that their ‘belief’ is along the same lines as watching ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’. Few realise the might and power of demons, or that they can devastate their lives. Demons also guide people along a path of harm.

Programmes devoted to ghosts try to tell viewers that ghosts are the souls of the departed, or that most manifestations are ‘benign’. Not so! They are demon manifestations, not just scary happenings! Demons are ALWAYS malevolent and ALWAYS do harm. The simple fact that viewers think ghosts are just departed souls is itself a deception – people who believe that, will also believe in what clairvoyants tell them about their dead relatives. It is all part of the grand design of Satan, who wants to keep people from believing in God as God demands.

The mere fact that you like to watch ghost and other ‘supernatural’ programmes is proof that Satan has already infiltrated your home and life. And, depending on the circumstances, his demons may also operate IN your home. BE CONCERNED! When fearful abnormal things happen, be suspicious.

The end result of ‘believing in God’ (which even Satan admits to) but not obeying His commands is an eternity spent in hell, tormented by Satan and his demons forever, and never having respite or any form of happiness. So, get real about Satan! He watches you, looks over your shoulder, and wants you to trip up in life and show your children how to ‘enjoy’ satanic materials and events. The purpose is to stop you believing. “Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.” (Luke 8:12). This means that when a person rejects the Christian Gospel, and think it is all their own decision, they are deceived. Satan has had a part in his or her rejection, by manipulating their minds and hearts towards his own sinfulness.

If you claim to believe in God but you want nothing to do with being saved or anything to do with being a Christian, then beware. If Christ stood before you right now, and you are unsaved, He would be more blunt than I am! He would say “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” (John 8:44). If you are unsaved, do you understand what Jesus just said to you?

Do not treat this matter lightly. Why do you think much of Jesus’ time on this earth was spent in casting out demons? They are real beings, unseen (in the most part) and powerful – far more powerful than any human being! And demons see you (if you are unsaved) as easy game, a good target. Don’t let this happen to your children. We are thus warned “Neither give place to the devil”. Satan only needs a small chink in our lives to enable him to force his way into our lives.

Satan is a vile opponent and wants you to suffer: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” He is not on this earth to make you happy, or to help. He wants to devour you... and your children! He will do all he can to turn your children into his future followers, and so will use Halloween as a lever.

Trick or Treat

The beginning of youngsters’ wickedness is often ‘trick or treat’, watching ‘cute’ depictions of demons and Satan in children’s programmes, and, as they get a bit older, watching those endless TV programmes about ghost hunts, clairvoyance, and series like Buffy. The reality of all this is far more sinister and wicked than ignorant viewers realise, because these ‘innocent’ things are designed to capture human beings from God and obedience to His word. The results are catastrophic to all of society, and it is from this ‘pool’ of ignorant people that we get the worst of evils and the most horrific of actions.

Halloween is not innocent, nor is it good for children OR parents, as they ignorantly follow an American custom pretending to be fun and games (though many ancients had similar beliefs). Let me start with the ‘fun’ stuff...

Police in Preston, UK, have issued warnings to parents to be vigilant, because trick or treaters are frightening people. Some who are turned away throw eggs at windows and doors, or drop fireworks through letter boxes (which is why each year I put a wooden block in the letter box, at Halloween and bonfire night).

Killer Clowns – the REAL Halloween Truth

Nasty individuals are also out in force and a new phenomenon has come to us from the USA – ‘killer clowns’. They wear clown outfits but their face masks are evil-looking. Their aim is to wreak mayhem. One mother in Yorkshire (Daily Mail 17th October, 2016) was attacked by knife-wielding thugs dressed as clowns and wearing fearsome masks, and who tried to abduct her baby. Yet, shops are selling ‘killer clown’ outfits. The Telegraph calls it a sick ‘craze’ that is quickly becoming a part of Halloween. It might be a craze, but it very clearly defines the true satanic, evil nature of Halloween.

The Mirror (13th October 2016) reports that children are so terrified by these ‘killer clowns’ they desperately call Childline ‘in the hundreds’. A quarter of the calls come from under 11s. Other reports have come in of ‘killer clowns’ hiding in bushes near schools and along roads. They jump out screaming, wielding baseball bats and knives. Others have threatened children with axes and hammers. Some threaten children online... one young girl was told by the ‘killer clown’ he was going to rape her before cutting her throat.

Kent police had 59 reports of killer clowns in three days this October. Thames police had 14 in just 24 hours. A student wearing a clown outfit ran through Brunel university campus carrying a chainsaw. Another ‘clown’, carrying a machete, was hunted by armed police in woods. Given the horrors of ISIS terrorists, this is far from funny or normal. Such reports are growing. Still think Halloween is just fun and games? I think you will change your mind if a ‘killer clown’ attacks you!

Is all this harmless? No, it is not! What is normal or funny about these trick or treaters? It is said that these killer clowns are based on a TV series by Steven King, which had a character called ‘Pennywise’, who was a demonic spirit. This is the closest to truth. All of society is cursed, as Satan’s rule leads us into the final days of this earth, deceiving parents and children.

We can expect this kind of wickedness everywhere and I have no doubt that some ‘killer clowns’ will indeed kill children or adults. This is because unsaved men and women are easy targets for demons. Even if we leave Christian beliefs out of the whole thing, Halloween is not suitable for anyone, let alone children. It is a death cult activity and carries great harm in so many ways.

Note, too, that it was Roman Catholicism that allowed pagans to bring their occult beliefs into the ‘church’. It was a way of keeping them in Catholicism. Halloween was one of these cultic beliefs and practices. What we have today might be ‘watered down’ (in the earliest days of Halloween, actual human sacrifices were made to appease the spirits of the dead), but it is still an occult, pagan activity.

Face Paint

Fun... fun... fun. We see face painting everywhere there are kids. Including Halloween, when parents paint their offspring’s faces themselves, completely unaware that they are putting noxious chemicals on their young skin.

The face paint used for children: 50% of them have cause for concern. (Study by CalPIRG and breast Cancer Fund). One chemical releases small amounts of formaldehyde. Though it has a legitimate use in controlled medical circumstances, it is also carcinogenic. So is another usual ingredient, petrolatum, which can be contaminated with PAHs, a carcinogenic found in diesel exhaust. Other ingredients include heavy metals like lead, cadmium and chromium... the darker the face paint the higher the levels of these metals.

Halloween is too scary for many children (livescience.com). State psychologist, Cindy Dell, studied young children’s reactions to Halloween and found many of them were terrified.

“Intriguingly, Halloween is a holiday when adults assist children in behaviors taboo and out of bounds," Clark writes in the anthropological journal Ethos. "It is striking that on Halloween, death-related themes are intended as entertainment for the very children whom adults routinely protect."

Clothing and Toys

Hospital departments see an increase in numbers of children needing emergency treatment at Halloween. This is because a few are killed, knocked down by cars in the dark. They trip over long clothing and break legs and arms, have eyes blinded by demon-forks inadvertently stuck in them, sometimes eat trick or treat morsels that may be poisoned... the list of injuries is extensive, and sadly, deaths increase.

Psychological Harm

Halloween is all about death and violence. Even the costumes prove this. “Last October, the teacher of a fourth grade class asked her students to write a short essay on what they would like to do most to celebrate Halloween. Eighty percent of her 9 year-olds expressed the wish to `kill somebody.' Where do children get such ideas? I believe it is fair to say that they get them from movies or TV.” (Ann Landers Column).

“All parents ought to be concerned. Halloween is desensitizing our children by its glorification of violence, death, mutilation and gore.” (creatingfutures.net). “Consider for a moment the "Nightmare on Elm Street", "Halloween", and "Friday the 13th" film series. They are popular viewing fare at Halloween parties. Who or what inspires these "actors"? Robert Englund who plays mass murderer Freddy Krueger in the "Nightmare on Elm Street" series says he draws his inspiration from the late Ted Bundy, who raped and murdered more than 28 women. Englund told Slaughterhouse magazine, "I just read an article on Ted Bundy, so a lot of my imagery is based on him." (as above).

“At the least, exposure to sadism, sexual violence, satanism, torture, mutilation and bizarre murders causes our kids to become calloused to these behaviors. But, Harriet Kozkoff, a public TV producer told the press, "Entertainment is a powerful socializing agent in contemporary society. Slasher and horror movies...use violence and sexual arousal to maximize profits and are an inevitable prescription for conditioning sexual sadism into our pre-teen, teenage and young adult film fans." (as above).

"Every year film violence and real-life violence continues to get worse. We must protest and stop this growing sadism in our homes, schools, and on our streets." (Dr Thomas Radecki, psychiatrist). Even when the children are only toddlers.

Exposing a vulnerable child to horror can have harmful consequences that run the spectrum from nightmares to emotional damage. In fact, "A tragic by-product of fear in the lives of children as early as preadolescence is the interest and involvement in supernatural occult phenomena." (Dr. Grace Ketterman, M.D. in her book, ‘You and Your Child's Problems’). Halloween is harmful because of its emphasis on fear, horror and bloodlust, and a fascination with death.

If a small child is having a problem – tantrums, lashing out, shouting, and so on, Halloween can make the problem, whatever it is, many times worse. Children with such problems are usually suffering from acute deprivation of love and security. It is their way of indicating their deep anxiety about something they feel helpless to do anything about, hence verbal and physical disruption, a sign of severe fear. So, when you add Halloween to the mix, with its deliberate emphasis on horror, death and ghouls, the anxiety will increase greatly. Why should any parent want to do this to their own child? Is this not abuse? So-called pastors and theological writers who say Halloween is ‘just a bit of fun’, are, to put it bluntly, ignorant fools.

“Halloween is harmful because it lures people into the occult. Many children are introduced to occultic practices at Halloween parties. Many kids get their first exposure to occultic horror movies at Halloween parties. After the initial exposure to the occult some children are attracted to the occult because of the power it offers them. Others see it as the ultimate means of rebelling against their parents.” (as above). Of course, very young children do not know what is going on. To them it is ‘just a bit of fun’ – because their parents and adults say so.

In this way they enter the sphere of the occult and demons without realising it. A little later they strengthen this link to the occult by listening to black/heavy metal music, playing fantasy role-playing games, watching slasher/horror movies (which can often include sadistic pornography), and reading occult and satanic books. This is why the Harry Potter films and books are so bad for children. And how many young children are introduced to Ouija boards at Halloween? Too many, often without their parents knowing. I can testify (from coming across psychiatric cases) that of all practices, the Ouija board can be the most dangerous. At the very least it fills a child with utter fear that can last for many months, if not for life.

On ‘Devil’s Night’ (the night before Halloween), countless cases of arson are committed. One USA city had 450 fires on Devil’s Night, lit by young people wanting to liven up Halloween! And many parents encourage their very young daughters to ‘dress like a slut’. WHY? Should not the parents protect their girls? No, instead they push them into sleaze fuelled by adult desires. Halloween is such great fun, eh?

Conclusions

I repeat – even if you are not a Christian, Halloween is still a very bad choice of ‘fun’. It pushes youngsters into the occult, and I have seen the results of this occultism in mental hospitals. But, when Christians practice Halloween, it is a sign of very serious sinful attitudes, or, at the very least, ignorance. But, if you read some blog entries by supposed ‘Christians’ you will find tolerance for Halloween – without any mention of the very serious aftermath.

Halloween is a spruced-up version of ancient Celtic practices and beliefs. It focuses on death, violence and demons. To deliberately introduce children to this is abuse, not love. And to oppose God and His warnings against the occult is tantamount to stupidity, not just ignorance. Our children are gifts from God and we may not harm them in any way. Halloween harms them in many more ways than tripping over a costume. It twists their minds to accept the occult and paganism and can do lifelong damage to their personalities and souls.
