A Refuge from the Storm

Isaiah 25: 4
'Thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat'

The boundless love of Jesus, when surrounded by the storm
In the ‘valley of the shadow’, constant care
The overflowing sense of His sustained abiding warmth
As I rest beneath the shadow of His prayer

Interceding for me, in the pressures life will bring
My Mediator, refuge from the storm
My shadow from the heat, counting each heart-beat
Sovereign Protector, keeping me from harm

1 Timothy 2: 2
'... there is one God, and one mediator between God and man
the man Christ Jesus'

Hebrews 9: 15
'He is the mediator of the new covenant'

John 17: 20
'... neither pray I for these alone,
but for them also which shall believe on me through their word'

Isaiah 53: 12
'He makes intercession for the transgressors'

Hebrews 7: 25
'He ever liveth to make intercession for them'
