Muslim: Britain needs to be more Christian

In her column on the Daily Telegraph, Baroness Warsi, the only Muslim member of the UK Cabinet, has said that Britain should be more Christian.

So, Ms Warsi, does this mean you will be campaigning for the removal of all pro-gay laws, allowing Christians to say what they think in private, and to politely manifest their beliefs into action within their own businesses? Because at present, we can do neither (as those links show).

Or, is Ms Warsi advocating the kind of state tolerance shown towards Christians in Communist China, where state-sanctioned churches are permitted, but other churches are tormented, and their pastors sent to gulags?

So, Baroness, prove you mean what you say, and openly call for freedom of conscience and a repeal to all pro-gay legislation. Surely it is enough that the law says we may not harm another? Gays only need their own laws if "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." (George Orwell, Animal Farm)

The following is an excerpt from an article on beliefnet:

The only Muslim in the United Kingdom's cabinet says Britain should be more Christian.

Writing in the daily newspaper the Telegraph, Baroness Sayeeda Hussain Warsi suggested Christians have no reason not to be proud of their religion — and declared that having a strong faith identify could help people to better understand people of other faiths.

"We need to create a country where people don't feel like they have to leave religion at the door. That means being proud of Christianity, not downgrading it," she said. "It means encouraging people to say that their faith inspires what they do. It means supporting religious charities in delivering public services in schools, hospices and rehabilitation."
