Google “What is a soldier?”

1. a person who serves in an army.

Similar: fighter, serviceman, servicewoman, fighting man

Without the help of Google I am pretty sure the majority of us will all know what a solider is, but do we know what a Solider of Christ is?

Soldiers of Christ, arise, and put your armour on

Many verses of The Bible explain our duty to be a soldier of Christ. This doesn’t mean we go around killing people. It means as Christians we are called, just like soldiers, to serve in the army of God. We are called to counter evil and protect the Kingdom of our King (God) and no matter what situation we are in we must live by the Spirit.

Ephesians 6:10-18(AKJV)

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

While you try to fight and be strong through trials, fears or attacks by the enemy, you might have a feeling of giving up and falling into depression, letting fears take over or being consumed by bad thoughts and feelings, but what God expects of us is different.

He expects us to fight, be strong through Christ, lean upon Him and be in tune with His word (The Bible) and learn from it so we are prepared and ready for anything that comes our way and we know what right steps to take with the right hand of God guiding us.

Once we belong to the Lord we are always His and God NEVER quits or gives up on us. So we must never quit our fight to serve The Lord and we must DO IT!

We are all sinners and can come to grief with negative thoughts or feelings, but we must push through and try not to let cracks appear so the devil doesn’t slide through those cracks to enable sin to affect us.

Below is some scripture to remember, and hopefully, encourage you to sit down and have those quiet times to learn more about God’s word and realise how you can use it to serve the Lord through these trying times:

John 2:15 (AKJV)

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Colossians 3:1-2 (AKJV)

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth

Romans 14:17 (AKJV)

for the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

Isaiah 48:18 (AKJV)

O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea

John 16:13 (AKJV)

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come

There are so many more verses I could share with you to show that as a Solider of Christ you have a true purpose in life and the fight you are fighting is a good fight and all for the Glory of God and His return.

The Bible is filled with guidance and instruction on how to serve the Lord and how to fight for what’s right.

So don’t quit the fight, DO IT!
