Romans 14: 1-3

So, in what way is the vegetarian powerless and feeble? Look back to verse 1 and you have an answer – some (prevalent today) call meat-eaters bad names, because of their own choices of food. Indeed, world leaders (or, rather, those secretive people behind the throne and one world government) are striving already to subject us all to a meat-less future, just to back-up their personal desires (to make us obey). Even worse are those who are vegans – who have, as they say, ‘lost the plot’. They are VERY vocal about not eating meat, for pagan reasons, and want to force us to their thinking.

The real argument is NOT about food. It is about Christians who have a very weak or misdirected faith. Such folk tend to cause dispute over nothing, and fail to be strong in beliefs. In this case, the reference is to Jews who think it wrong to eat meat outside of Jewish practices. But, their disputes are without foundation for God told Peter that ALL meat is good. Therefore, such people are engaged in “doubtful disputations”.

Today, many Christians use doubtful disputations about issues in and outside of doctrine. They can cause havoc in a fellowship, for no good reason. Verse 3 says not to be judgmental about what someone eats or does not eat, because each is saved by the same Lord. The principles also apply to other arguments, which should never, ever divide brethren… who will all meet in Heaven on judgment day, regardless!
