The Breath on the Back of your Hand

Feel the breath on the back of your hand
Softer than a feather
Lighter than the air
Almost imperceptible
But it’s there

Now, turn your head a shade
and hear the gentle whisper in your ear
His unfailing promise, always new
I will never leave you
He waits, beside
so hide in Him
He’s there

He waits in love
For the turning of your head
He’s the One Who looks in deep concern
as you toss and turn in bed
He’s always there beside you
Helping you to stand
He’s closer, even closer than
The breath upon your hand
