The Wonders of God

Many serious Christians today are fearful of current affairs: Islam is rampaging around the world and making havoc of Europe and the UK. We have already been devastated by wicked  homosexuals, and deceived by pagan-minded ‘greens’... all around us we see coming destruction and ruin, so anxiety reigns. This should not be!

“But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?

Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?

Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.”

(Deuteronomy 4:29-35).

These words of comfort do not stand alone. They follow on from the anger of God, Who hated that His people were going after false gods and corrupt behaviour, provoking Him to anger. For their sins they would perish and be utterly destroyed. This is what we are seeing today! Don’t think our churches have been faithful, because they haven’t!! God is now chastising us with the wicked movements that wash over us like stinking sewage.

As this happens those who belong to God are “few in number among the heathen”... the very thing promised to us by the hordes of Muslims now strangling the West. However, in the midst of this carnage (and there is more to come), God gives us a lifeline... “But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find Him.” As always promises of God have conditions. The condition is very simple if we want to see an end to the raging hordes: “if thou seek Him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.” (heart and mind, emotions, thoughts). How many modern Christians think this way? Very few. And so relief is not found.

We are definitely in days of tribulation, and we are in the latter days (v30), but “if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shall be obedient unto His voice... He will not forsake thee...” I see very little of this obedience in the brethren, only churches living in their little cocoons, pretending all is well. They hold unbiblical prayer meetings and ramble on and on as usual, with meaningless petitions that have no value. We KNOW this is true because NOTHING IS HAPPENING AND SIN WELLS UP LIKE A TIDAL WAVE.

Have you heard the voice of God (v33)? No. Again, we know because you are still in the doldrums paddling in self-pity and self-righteousness... strong words for a very weak people! Only a rare few are seeing the truth and working towards full obedience. Can’t you see verse 34 in action this very day? And even tomorrow you will hear of yet another awful thing coming at us from all around. It is because no-one is listening and no-one cares. And many are afraid.

But, as believers we are royal children, with the authority of the Lord in our lives; children of God don’t hide away in either shame or anxiety! The Lord is showing us these things not just as a warning, but as a promise – “the Lord he is God; there is none else beside him.”! Show it in your lives and He will come to you. Stand up firmly against the screaming hordes of evildoers, and they will drop like stones.

Obey Him and He will “drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art”.

“Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever.”

Lift up your heads people of God, and that very sign will begin to drive out our enemies! Victory over the wicked is as close as that... but will you obey and do it?

Could You?

I know enough about poverty – and I mean actual abject poverty – to enable me to speak on the subject with absolute authority (sorry to those who already know, but it must be repeated to get a message across!).

As I watch the TV series ‘Can’t Pay, Won’t Pay’, about High Court Enforcement Officers collecting either money or evicting people from properties, I shiver. This is because, without God’s grace and mercy, I could easily have been in the same position as many shown who were unable to pay their debts. A lot of them were decent folks who had run into trouble through no fault of their own and I feel for them deeply. The issue still causes me to remember my past... and yes, though many think of it as a joke, we sometimes had to hide behind the curtains when the rent collector came for his money.

When I finally was attacked by homosexuals and lost my job in 2005, the sudden job loss left me with many thousands of pounds of debt, from which I am still trying to recover. After twelve years things are much easier, but I had to reach the age of 70 for this!

As I have said before, NO Christian bothered to help me during my previous 17-25 years of abject poverty, when I had holes in my shoes, poor clothing, and had to make a packet of crisps into a meal for myself, my wife and two children. This fact MUST be repeated. Frankly, no-one cared! My church and pastor pretended they were unaware... at the time, the pastor had recently built a mansion-style home from an interest-free loan given by us, the members! Only my mother tried to help, though she was poor herself.

All these things have stuck in my mind for decades and is still always close to the surface of my thinking. I know that it can only take a very short time to lose everything. But, when this happens to Christians, we should and must expect help from those who claim to be our brethren! BUT IT DOESN’T HAPPEN!

Instead, Christians who have enough to live on conveniently cannot see Christians in real need! That is, they KNOW what is happening but choose to line their own pockets. I’m not necessarily talking about rich Christians – but those who have one pence more than they need. Meanwhile, desperate Christians are on the breadline, and no Christian helps them. I mean in any rational and kindly way. And I do not mean an occasional few pence. However, many think it wonderful to send money to Islamic countries, or to help people on the streets because of their own bad behaviour.

Could YOU allow genuine Christians to go under? I know that most Christians could not care less. They advise those in trouble to ‘pray’ while they gather in their shekels, maybe for a big purchase, a fancy house or car, or for a ‘well deserved’ pension pot and very comfortable retirement.

Sorry, my friends, but that is deplorable. Some even ‘help’ street vagrants. But, they ‘forget’ to help their fellow believers. I still remember that when some in our church acknowledged we were in poverty, they sent around a very small cardboard box of root vegetables, enough to make one pot of soup used on one day. I hate to say it, but what about the other days, 364 of them?? And the box contained vegetables given to the church freely to adorn the place for Harvest Festival... so there was no cost to those delivering the box, nor any personal sacrifice, or empathy.

I am not speaking bitterly, but with extreme sadness. And I am VERY annoyed when it comes to my fellow believers in trouble, and see NO Christian helping them meaningfully. They might be willing to give a few pounds (and I mean a few) once, or even twice. But, I can tell you from experience, such a Christian in trouble needs continuous help. Some fellow Christians have sufficient means to end the major trauma that affects the trouble-struck believer. (And trauma it is, believe me). But, they pretend they can’t help, or they just ignore the need and don’t talk about it, and they continue to hoard their shekels for themselves. If I was in that position I could not live with myself... building up my personal riches or possessions and watching a good Christian man or family go down the drain. No, I could not do it. I would rather become even poorer than allow that to happen... it brings back too many memories.

Do I sound rather angry or annoyed? I hope so! I KNOW what it is like to face another day with nothing, usually unable to pay my rent/mortgage, buy clothes for children, or shoes that don’t let in the rain. I KNOW what it is like not to have even a few pence to buy bread or a packet of crisps (the content of a sandwich, sometimes every day, in between days with a small plate of beans).

I KNOW what it is like when to have absolutely nothing to feed children with. I KNOW how humiliating it is to ask for a favour... I only tried it once, and the excuses made were bad enough to stop me ever again asking for help from fellow believers.

There are TV programmes on nowadays showing families who are ‘poor’. But, their definition of ‘poor’ is very different from mine! To them, they are poor because they cannot go to restaurants, or have a good holiday. When I was poor I could not enter even a bad café, and certainly didn’t have a holiday. We didn’t enter a café until my kids were in their teens! Many times we had literally pence to live on for a week, so we knew what hunger was. And, today, families get extra money from the government just for having children. We had none of that.

So, could YOU watch a fellow believer become destitute while you gather wheat into your own barn? Could YOU put away your money and leave your fellow Believer hungry or desperate to pay bills? Yes, many DO act this way. I want all Christians to feel shame if they know a fellow believer is in dire need and yet does not help... REAL continuous help to stop them going under, not just a few notes you might have spare... which isn’t sacrificial at all. If anything it is condescending, and that kind of shallow help is humiliating to one who already feels humiliated by his circumstances.

I trust that those who read this note will have thoughts to help a fellow human being whose salvation is the same as theirs. I also trust that the genuine Believer who knows he has sufficient for himself, will feel shamed if he does not help properly and fully. I also trust that if such a one helps another, it is done silently without the need to be thanked profusely, or to tell others*. And if no help is given, SHAME ON YOU. Look to the Lord and see what He thinks of your tight-fisted reaction!

(*I used to go out with certain members of family for walks, because they invited me along. On one occasion they bought me a lunch, though I suggested I wait outside because I felt awkward; but they insisted. A short time later I discovered that this act of kindness was related to someone else, who joked “Ha! That’s why he goes with you for walks – wants a free dinner!”  I never went for walks with them again, and didn’t explain why. To say I felt humiliated is an under-statement. If you offer help or a kindness do not spread it abroad!).

I have only had about eight years of relative ease from poverty in my whole life. Then, 2005 took it all away again and I was plunged into an even worse mess. But, the Lord came to my rescue in so many ways. That is why I speak as I do.

Right now I know of one family who is about to lose their home, whilst others look on, including the husband’s own immediate family. Where is their help? God watches and waits... but does He see anyone come to the fore? Make no mistake, God watches us and sees us closing our hearts and minds. He watches us as we collect our money for ourselves whilst allowing others to struggle. SO WHAT if you give of your substance and lose out on your desires and dreams?

Bear this in mind – those in need are in need CONTINUALLY. One gift is lovely, but it takes continuous help to keep a family above water... the need is 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year... Need I say more? I know from experience. This is hard talk, but until we get to that point of the earliest Christians, we will never hear the words “See how they love each other”! We are entering days when each Christian should watch the backs of their fellow believers. Thus far, I don’t see it.

Did You Know...

I discovered many interesting things when I studied the topic of genocide with the University of Israel two years ago. For example, the official UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide began in 1948 after WW2, as a way to catch and punish people who committed horrific acts of murder. Genocide is not just about getting rid of large numbers of people by murder...

Genocide covers the killing of ANY group, whether political, religious, or other. Yet, the UN, via its so-called ‘Peace-Keepers’, joins terrorists in killing... The murder of Tutsis is a good example. Also, the UN refused to recognise Turkey’s genocide of Armenians, and in our day the genocide of Yazidi and Christians by Muslims. Probably because Islamic countries make up the majority of the supposed ‘Security Council’.

Genocide is planned in advance by a ruling group or government and includes both physical and mental destruction, prevention of reproduction, removing children from legitimate parents and placing them with guardians favoured by the ruling elite. This latter crime is practised today even in the UK, plus removing or refusing children to Christian foster parents or adopting Christian couples. This is nothing but genocide of religion. But, thus far, the UN has not prevented one single case of genocide!

Genocide, then, can be executed against religious groups as well as ethnic groups; politicide is similar, but against particular political adherents, and ethnocide is the destruction of groups because of their culture, which can be done even without physically hurting people. All three versions are currently being used by Islam against the West, but the UN refuses to take action. In this they are supported by socialist governments around the world, even in the West.

Perpetrators attack minority groups who cannot protect themselves; they often label those being attacked (yellow star for Jews, etc), they dehumanise the attacked groups so they appear to be inferior, who are also demonised and made into scapegoats. All of this is being done by Islamists against the West, particularly Jews and Christians.

If you think governments will stand up against those who commit genocide, then you are mistaken! Even in the UK forms of genocide are actively pursued by atheists, homosexuals and Islamists. Many and various excuses and labels stop the public from recognising this foul, satanic activity, but it is getting worse. The demonising of Christians is just one sign of this.

Charismatic Garbage (again!)

We often feature charismatic garbage sent out by the Elijah List. How on earth can its readers be so deluded?

One of the latest bits of trash (27th Sept 2017) says that one of its favoured ‘prophets’ can “usher us into God’s presence”... and the one who can do this is a woman, too!! This immediately removes her from the ‘pastor’ category. Today, she repeats a message, itself repeated time and again, that God wants to raise up an army of godly men and women. God will ‘unleash His power’ in and through these special people.

The ‘key’ will be given by the ‘prophet’ at a special event, where she will tell you the seven-step process. Each time this woman feels jaded she simply repeats this seven-step process and she is on fire again! Wow! Now, she wants to ‘unleash the power of God’ in those who attend. Remember now – it will take only seven steps to “experience more of His presence and anointing” and “usher you into the next level of spiritual power.” Hm!!

Sorry by the way – the event took place on the 27th!! Oops!!

However, the main point is this – God supposedly is using a WOMAN instead of a man, to tell you how to get more from God. The implication of the woman’s message is plain – you will only get this power if you attend. Only she can tell you how to gain this power... not God in His own way! Friends, such people are fakes. If God is to act in and through you, He will do so without going through an ad agency or a professionally-photographed illicit preacher. Many waste their money and time on these ridiculous, ungodly events, to no advantage.

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;” (1 Ti.4:1)... including those who blindly follow!
