The victory by Donald J Trump to become the next President (45th) of the United States is a relief and cause for cautious optimism.
Trump is a business man and his election campaign was run like the biggest high value sales deal and marketing campaign ever seen. He resonated with the American people in a way Hillary Clinton never did. Hillary was boring, hypocritical and vacuous on substance; there was no vision except for a nebulous “Stronger Together” slogan. How does that work, for example, when there are black and white differences in values between Judaeo-Christian values and the homosexual supremacy values that spewed out of the White House for the last 8 years?
Trump had the soundbites that stuck “… build a great wall”, “…drain the swamp”, “…crooked Hillary”, “lock her up”, “Make America Great Again”, “such a nasty woman”, “Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on,” I am sure you can add some more.
Yes of course Donald Trump is not a role model at many levels and his adulterous and licentious behaviour I hope, in the past, has now been tamed and forgotten. The locker room conversation was repulsive and demeaning, yet this level of banter, and worse, is commonplace at work and in many informal conversations between men and between women. The media broadcast dramas and films that applaud such behaviour in their heroes and villains, and yet cry foul when Trump’s off guard private bragging comments are released. Hypocrisy.
Trump’s contract with the people on his campaign website https://www.donaldjtrump.com/policies/ has statements that any rational peaceful person could subscribe to, e.g.
“Establish a Commission on Radical Islam to identify and explain to the American public the core convictions and beliefs of Radical Islam, to identify the warning signs of radicalization, and to expose the networks in our society that support radicalization.” https://www.donaldjtrump.com/policies/foreign-policy-and-defeating-isis/
The UK government would do well to do the same.
Looking after the American people first, protecting and creating jobs, tax cuts, defending and protecting the country with a strong military, etc. If Trump can deliver on say 20% or more of these pledges, progress will have been made for the good of the USA and the world.
As Christians we know that God gives power to kings and rulers for His purpose. How Trump’s ‘reign’ will work out has yet to be revealed.
Yet where I felt led to pray against President Obama and his wicked deceitful ideals, I pray that God will give Donald Trump wisdom, discernment and good counsel to lead the American people in the path of righteousness and direct the people to reform and restore Judaeo-Christian values that work for the good of all, and were the foundation on which the USA was built - fact.
EU Leaders Demand Their Values Apply
Sadly we can see the seething and petulant demands of EU leaders who inisit on thier values apply if Donald Trump wants to do buiness with them. Arrogance and stupidity.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel insists that prevision in the name of equality are the values for engagement between Germany and the USA:
“Germany and America are bound by their values: democracy, freedom, the respect for the law and the dignity of human beings, independent of their origin, skin color, religion, gender, sexual orientation or political position," she added. "On the basis of these values I offer the future president of the United States, Donald Trump, close cooperation." So, she is trying to impose EU immorality on the USA!
“German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier could not bring himself to congratulate Trump: "Nothing will be easier, a lot will be more difficult. We don't know how Donald Trump will govern America," he told the DPA news agency on Wednesday. "But we have to accept the result and we will accept it." http://www.dw.com/en/merkel-congratulates-trump-as-politicians-express-shock/a-36318866
The European Parliament President Martin Schulz, who according to protocol doesn’t need to congratulate Tusk, issued instead a message “on the result of the US presidential elections”, addressed more to the European audience.
“Mr. Trump has managed to become the standard-bearer of the angst and fears of millions of Americans. Those concerns must now be addressed with credible policies and proposals”, Schulz writes.
“This campaign will not be remembered as America’s finest. Vitriol and polarisation have fuelled his electoral contest. President Trump will have the daunting task of bringing together a divided nation”, the Parliament president further says.
But he refused to acknowledge that Trump’s approach was predetermined by Clinton’s attitude and nastiness.
Les Deplorables spoke in BREXIT 2016 and now in the USA Elections 2016. The main takeaway is democracy can change things when people vote. The challenge now is to get the right policies into the manifestoes and taken on board by political leaders who have not been overcome by a 'strange delusion'. With this in view Trump is already gathering together people of calibre to advise him, just as he does in business.
