Obama, this year voted among the most corrupt politicians in the USA (by Judicial Watch - World Net Daily, 28th Dec 2011), thinks America is 'broken' because it refuses to adopt Marxist policies. In Britain, Cameron thinks the country is broken because of degenerative moral values (while pushing homosexuality). Both are in for a surprise, because GOD broke both countries, not men... foul men are only the monkeys chained to the organ-grinder's music machine! They can only do what is sinful and evil; whatever is dictated to them by their master, Satan. But, it is holy men who allow it to happen. So, God brings us down as a punishment.

Psalm 60 says, in verse 2: "Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh."

When an entire country rebels against God, we can expect that country to slide into a pit of its own making... and the slide into obscurity is initiated by the Lord. He tells us that because we have sinned and don't care, He will let us taste what it is really like to live without Him. This is why both countries falling swiftly towards rock bottom. "Oh God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us" (Psalm 60:1). Christians in both countries have allowed wicked men to grow in strength. Now we must reap the consequences. "Thou hast shewed thy people hard things"!

There is only one answer to this awful state of affairs: "Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man. Through God we shall do valiantly; for he it is that shall tread down our enemies." Not strategies, not talk, not clever arguments, not marches, petitions, or letters... Only GOD. Some of those things may be part of the solution. But, if they do not come out of a true humility and handing-over of the problem to God, nothing will happen.

As Psalm 86 tells us: "For thou [art] great, and doest wondrous things: thou [art] God alone." (verse 10). The man who hands over his problem to God will be led by Him: "[So] the LORD alone did lead him, and [there was] no strange god with him." (Deuteronomy 32:12) But, the man has to live righteously.

We must see the brokenness of both countries as a judgment on us, as well as a warning and encouragement. If we again live for Christ, God will come to our aid and those who are corrupt and wicked will be vanquished. The question is – will believers actually believe? Or will they follow the wicked into further corruption?
