BTM Co-worker James Waddell proposes the following interesting angle on the notorious attempt to bring in Same Sex Marriage. I believe he makes a strong case. Will Christian advocates follow it up?
"In His report, the UN Secretary General, pursuant to Security Council Resolution 808, succinctly described this category of crimes as follows:
Crimes Against Humanity were first recognized in the Charter and judgement of the Nuremberg Tribunal as well as in Law No.10 of the control Council for Germany. Crimes against humanity are aimed at any civilian population and are prohibited regardless of whether they are committed in an armed conflict, international or internal in character. They "are particularly odious offenses in that they constitute a serious attack on human dignity or grave humiliation or a degradation of one or more human beings. They are not isolated or sporadic events, but are part either of a government policy (although the perpetrators need not identify themselves with this policy) or of a wide practice of atrocities tolerated or condoned by a government or a de facto authority. Murder; extermination; torture; rape; political, racial, or religious persecution and other inhumane acts reach the threshold of crimes against humanity only if they are part of a widespread or systematic practice. Isolated inhumane acts of this nature may constitute grave infringements of human rights, or depending on the circumstances, war crimes, but may fall short of falling into the category of crimes under discussion."
a) The victim groups are much wider than those groups protected by genocide and are defined as an attack directed against a civilian population. Thus issues such as defining the group in terms of ethnicity, race, nationality or religion, either from the point of view of perpetrators or victims, is irrelevant. Further point worth noting is that political groups, such as the NLD, and gender groups, such as women, would be included in this definition.
b) The intention, unlike genocide, is not, primarily, to physically destroy a group in whole or in part, but to impose ideological hegemony. Crimes against Humanity are acts performed in a systematic manner in the name of a State practicing ideological hegemony. (RSICC/C, Vol.1, p. 359).
This has been most clearly expressed in the celebrated Klaus Barbie Case, by the French Court de Cassation in June 1988...
The defining characteristics are that Crimes against Humanity are either systematic or widespread. Systematic has been defined by the ICTY in its Prosecutor v Erdemovic Judgement (IT-96-22-A) as possessing the following four elements:
- The existence of a political objective, a plan pursuant to which the attack is perpetrated or an ideology, in the broad sense of the word, that is, to destroy, persecute or weaken a community;
- The perpetration of a criminal act on a very large scale against a group of civilians or repeated and continuous commission of inhumane acts linked to one another;
- The preparation and use of significant public or private resources, whether military or other;
- The implication of high level political and/or military authorities in the definition and establishment of the methodical plan." (Check out http://www.ibiblio.org/obl/docs3/Horton-2005.pdf p201 onwards)
Therefore, could a legal argument be brought against the UK government if they decide to introduce same sex marriage as they will be forcing the public to accept that buggery is the same as sexual intercourse? This will result in persecution of normal humanity, religious groups, injury to health, etc.
A cursory reading of the above, would appear that the government's policy would tick all the boxes, even though it is couched in the terms of equality and other lies.
Is this the Achilles heel of the government's policy?
A number of legal groups currently fight for the freedoms of Christians. Will they study this statement and bring it to fruition? If not, why not? Same Sex Marriage is not just a biblical abomination – it acts against every individual, including those who wish to advance homosexuality itself, whose cause of death in millions throughout the world is proven, as is its evil procurement of children and loss of freedom of speech in the general population. What can be more a crime against humanity than to force them to accept what is blatantly harmful in all respects? Governments who enforce these requirements are acting in an irrational, mentally unbalanced way... it is about time they were brought to account.
