It comes to something when a liberalized Prime Minister rebukes an archbishop for not fighting the side of biblical Christianity! But, that is exactly what David Cameron did... and rightly so. The archbishop is a wolf in sheep's clothing.
The Daily Mail (17th December) front page said 'Cameron calls on the Church to defend the 'values and moral code' of the Bible'. Cameron told the Archbishop to "Speak up for Christianity"! He accused the Archbishop of failing to speak to the whole nation, and, in words the total opposite of Obama's, said that Britain is "a Christian country" and that politicians and churchmen should not be afraid to say so!! (It is Cameron and the law that causes us to be afraid to speak out).
More amazingly, Cameron said the 'time had come for public figures to teach right from wrong'. He correctly said that the CofE 'did not do enough to defend those values in the face of 'moral neutrality' that pervades modern life'. He said "Put simply, for too long we have been unwilling to distinguish right from wrong. 'Live and let live' has too often become 'do what you please'."
Importantly, he added that "Bad choices have too often been defended as just different lifestyles. To be confident in saying something is wrong is not a sign of weakness, it's a strength."! The Mail commented that 'Mr Cameron's demands for a 'moral code' were directed at human rights apologists and Left-wing politicians who recoil from promoting Britain's Christian heritage.'.
Cameron even said that the failure of the CofE to speak out clearly had 'let Islamic extremism grow unchallenged and called for the promotion of Christian values'! He conveniently forgets that the EU demands that Britain keeps its extremists!
So – what is Cameron up to? He has been solidly behind the homosexual movement, and his government has made very sure that Christians who do speak out for biblical truth are victimized, prosecuted, hounded and penalised! Now, he is saying the exact opposite should take place. What are you doing Cameron?
He cannot have 'Christian values' and ask for Christians to 'stand up for biblical codes', and yet continue to attack Christians because they refuse to accept a wicked lifestyle. When we speak out against what is wrong and teach what is right, we are attacked. When genuine Christians speak out, we are ignored by the media. But, the idiotic and weak nonsense put out by the archbishop is treated as 'Christian'. We speak out strongly against homosexual propaganda ('alternative lifestyle'), but only get kicked in the teeth.
If we take Cameron at his word, then we are saying right now – fight the homosexual agenda! It is foul and brings disease and death! We say it because Mr Cameron says this is what we ought to do! If he is serious, then he has no choice but to cause the law to pull back on homosexual 'human rights'. Is Cameron being genuine? If he is, he will listen to Bible-believing Christians and stop promoting the very opposite of those values he wants to see in Britain! The choice is very simple – if he wants Christian values, he must drop homosexual human rights, so-called. He has made his brave statement – now let's see him make good on it. Otherwise he is just a liar.
