A group of Orthodox Jewish Rabbis and health professionals have created a formal statement which states that homosexuality is a sin, and that homosexual behaviour can be changed if the person has the willingness and willpower to confront it. The document, currently with over 150 signatories, is entitled the 'Declaration on the Torah Approach To Homosexuality'
As Bob Unruh reports in his WND column, the statement is in direct contrast to a former 2010 statement by Orthodox Rabbis:
"It contradicts a statement from 2010 signed by Orthodox rabbis who believed, "Jews with homosexual orientations or same sex-attractions should be welcomed as full members of the synagogue and school community. As appropriate with regard to gender and lineage, they should participate and count ritually, be eligible for ritual synagogue honors, and generally be treated in the same fashion and under the same halakhic and hashkafic framework as any other member of the synagogue they join." "
What is interesting about the 2010 pro-homosexual statement is that they make a distinction between the genders, when in fact homosexuals are working to remove the notion of gender entirely. As we have reported before, the assault on 'gender' began with feminism, and has now also been undertaken by homosexuals and sexual anarchists. This is hardly surprising, since in reality, feminism and homosexual activism are symptoms of the same malaise: Rejection of God's order and design for society.
In effect, society has embarked upon an anarchistic, stiff-necked defiance against the One Who made us in His image, and Who has very clearly instructed us in how we should behave. Make no mistake, homosexuality and transgenderism are only the outer edges of a pit containing immense evil. Over the event horizon is a whole host of foul things that cannot be politely discussed. The desired end result is the total destruction of gender, and complete sexual anarchy.
'Gender Liberation' is next...
Already, a school in Sweden is avoiding the use of gender-specific pronouns, to eliminate supposed 'gender-bias' (CNN, June 26th 2011). The biggest mistake that people can make is to think that this is just an isolated, fringe case, and will never become mainstream. California's public school system is embarking on its next big cultural push to pervert the minds of children. 'Gender Liberation' supposedly removes the constraints of 'unnecessary' gender stereotypes, allowing undeveloped, uninformed children to 'choose' whatever they wish to be ('You won't believe what's 'next' in radical sex agenda' - WND, 1st January 2011). This is in direct contrast to (a) common sense, and (b) God's word, which says: "But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female." (Mark 10:6)
Christians have sat back and hoped in vain that things will go away for long enough, and on too many occasions to number - with terrible consequences. The answer is for Christians to sincerely repent of this dreadful apathy and to work to live a life of righteousness, which includes the public opposition and rebuking of evil behaviour and movements. The results of this apathy, unrepentance and unrighteousness have been disastrous, and if the church remains in this state for much longer, we will find ourselves, our families, and our children waking up in a full-blown New Sodom and Gomorrah, with the judgment of God at hand.
